The quality of corrugated rolls will directly affect the cost of corrugated cardboard production. Generally, companies will inspect the corrugated rolls from time to time. So, what aspects of corrugated cardboard will be affected by these detected points? Let’s discuss it below.
1. Corrugated roller pitch
The flute distance refers to the distance between the ends of two flute peaks, and some people use the number of flutes within a certain distance to calculate it. Generally, the larger the corrugated distance, the more unfavorable for printing, but the corrugated ratio of corrugated distance is relatively low, which can reduce the amount of corrugated paper, but it has an impact on the edge pressure of corrugated cardboard.
2. Corrugated roll height
The flute height refers to the distance between the valleys between the two flute peaks. Generally, the higher the flute height, the stronger the edge pressure of the cardboard. The more corrugated paper is used, that is, the higher the thickness of the cardboard. The rollers are also relatively easy to wear.
3. Medium and high corrugated sticks
In order to allow the corrugating rollers to evenly and parallelly press on the core paper and the inner paper during operation, the lower corrugating rollers generally have a certain middle height. Some of the pressure rollers are medium-high and some are not. This is set according to the characteristics of the equipment. The so-called middle height means that the diameter of the middle part of the corrugating roller is larger than the diameter of the two ends of the corrugating roller, generally between 30-60 filaments. The amount of the middle height depends on the diameter, width and material of the roller.
Fourth, the diameter of the corrugated roll
The larger the diameter of the corrugated roller, the better the rigidity, the lower the medium height, the more steam can be stored in the roller, the smaller the vibration, and the easier it is to operate. The disadvantage is that the contact surface of the core paper is large, which results in greater tension on the core paper.
5. Interlocking gap of corrugated roller
When the upper and lower corrugating rollers are engaged, if the occlusal gap of the corrugated wall is too small, the corrugated core paper will be broken and the corrugation strength will be affected; if the occlusal gap is too large, the resonance of the corrugated roller will increase.
Six, corrugated rate
After the corrugation is formed, compare the straightened length of the corrugated with the unstraightened length. Generally, the higher the corrugation rate, the more paper is used. If the same material is used, the edge compression strength will be greater, and the flat compression strength will be lower.
